Cool things I experienced along the way:
A storm was brewing and I was in a hurry to bike this one. It was late in the afternoon, but with the storm moving in, it had cooled off a bit. The adventure was not getting struck by lightning!
From the website:
Though these were actually constructed as separate trails, one is a direct continuation of the other along the same lake. This is a very pleasant, mostly urban trail, with higher hills than any other rail trail in Florida.
Though they're only on the east end, and don't really require very much effort, they can still produce some fast speeds on the downhills.
It actually took me longer to find the trailhead than to bike the entire trail...

Not here...

Not here either...

Ahhh... here's the end of the trail -- the storm is all around...

Very dramatic sky

Fish boat docking area

Sharp turn here into the park area

Very nice, but no one around with the storms about to hit

Trail crosses the street by the lake for a bit

Yep... it's raining across the lake

Bridge under US 27

US 27 on the left

One of the few trails with street lights

Nice area to sit up the hill with a great view of the Lake Minneola

According to my mileage, I should be done by now...
let's see where this goes...

4.7 miles to West Orange Trail (my trail #2)
I didn't realize they were connected by the Lake Trail
I'll have to come back and do the Lake Trail another time -- it's starting to rain!

Aha! If you check back with Trail #2, you'll see the MM1 at the other end.
Now I know it's a 5 mile trail and will return to do that portion!
Cause it's starting to rain now!!!

Okay... put away the camera in a dry place for a quick return... <whooosh!>

The rain felt great! Back and I've already dried off. Nice 'fan' on the bike!

It actually looks better than when I began!

8.1 miles -- Average speed 13.7 -- 21.7 Maximum speed
Well... three trails in one day for a total of 25.8 miles.
This was a beautiful ride!
