South Wekiva and Cross Trails

I started the journey on Monday, February 11, 2008 close to home base with parts of the South Wekiva and Cross Trails.

STATS:

Temp:  67 - 70 degrees F

Distance:  24.4 Miles

Calories Burned:  1,165

Average Speed:  12.4

Total time of outing:  2 hours, 15 minutes and 5 seconds

This was taken from a bridge that crosses over I-4 - eastbound (north).

Here's the westbound (south) view.

From the middle of the bridge looking up and to the west...

You'll probably see a bunch of these in the next 6 months... me with something in the background.  That's from the middle of the I-4 bridge "facing" west.  Good thing I have long arms!  No timer on this camera!

Here's what the bridge looks like from the 'other side'...

Another pedestrian bridge crossing Lake Mary Boulevard

View from the middle of the bridge.

On the bridge.

Same intersection with a pretty landscaping feature.

Had to take a picture of this sign.  I had to dismount and walk the bridge.

Hate it when that happens!  ;-)

Don't know if you can make it out... but here's a gal that passed me while I was taking the shot of the "Bicyclists Must Dismount" sign.  Evidently, I was blocking her view of it!  %-)

Trail Sign -- it was an 'electrifying' day!!!  ===8-0

A fun tunnel with lights!!!  Wish I'd had a horn to honk!

Look!  You can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  %-)

Memorial Tree.

Don't think it'll do well growing under all the high tension power lines.

One of a series of Parcourse Fitcircuit Signs

I-4 on the return...

This is right by the National Headquarters for AAA and I-4.

It was a great day for cycling and starting my journey!  As you can see, it was a 'severe clear' day!

And so the journey begins... Join me, won't you?
